Sneak a peek, But keep your tongue in his cheek Was to tell you, That you could not understand When you know fully well That the nature of the world Is to ride any future Falling from the carousel Everything is moving Further and away Changing shape and gradually receding And there is nothing happening today There’s this and that and nothing in the way For just in case you’d better Measure and make room for The very next kick that comes along So measure and make room for The very next gig that comes along

We made a lovely number When we were numbered together But now you’re going away, To sleep with someone in Mesopotamia And why should I keep all of this stuff to myself? When I know it’s true When I know it’s true When I know it’s true enough I know it is, I made the whole thing up We had a lovely summer The summer we spent together But now you’re going away To where the summers look much better And why should I keep all of this stuff to myself? When I know it’s true When I know it’s true When I know it’s true enough I know it is, I made it up When I know I made the whole thing up for you (It’s a bit of a small town) You’re fooling no one in that Italian dress You are forever Austin Princess Why don’t you write me a letter? I could become your go-getter I’d have to throw it away I couldn’t let you get the better And why should I keep all of this stuff to myself? When I know it’s true When I know it’s true When I know it’s true enough I know it is, I made the whole thing up

When this day is over, we shall be spiders Runners and hiders, all alone When this day is over and we can’t relax We shall inherit wanderlust Guadeloupe Carnival We’ve never been, we never will When this day is over and we are in black There shall be no colours only stars Guadeloupe Carnival We’ve never been, we never will How do you fly those coloured fish? How do you smile that smile? Smile for me angel Fly for me angel

I keep hearing voices But I’m told that it’s alright As they’re only falling through the floor tonight And I’m trying not to listen But I’m sure that you know how it is? One life is quite enough But others always fit And they say… We have been up since Monday We have been very close at hand We’ve been to every party We hope that people understand Since we have been together We have moved throughout this land - and Where should we go if we want to know A dull thud, thud and thump, is wobbling around the walls I’ve never really liked their music, but I guess it’s better as a whole? It’s a kind of a soundtrack to some underwater film By that French comedian, who believes he is a seal And they say… We have been up since Monday We have been very close at hand We’ve been to every party We hope that people understand Since we have been together We have moved throughout this land - and Where should we go if we want to know About Love? I’ve said it once and that’s enough They might be listening in on us And you can never tell And you can never tell And nor can I We have been up since Monday We have been very close at hand We’ve been to every party We hope that people understand Since we have been together We have moved throughout this land - and Where should we go Where should we go...

You had a gift You talent For having all the things that other people hadn’t You had a rocket You had a boat You had an ego like a radio telescope And you’d say, “I am so attached to me today Please rescue me, I cannot tare myself away You made a move You made amends You made a point of phoning other people’s friends You made a medal It didn’t matter There wasn’t anyone to see you getting fatter Or hear you say, “I am so attached to me today Please rescue me, I cannot tare myself away” And you didn’t need a rocket And you didn’t need a boat And of course you couldn’t stop it And your life became a joke And I’ve never seen a smaller fire Give a bigger smoke

Quality Time 05:50
Safe in the long grass Down by the bypass The summer is moving It’s sleepy down south Alone in the heat-haze As ever as always The Blue Boy is boiling A sweet in his mouth And energy is hard to find When you’re wasting your time in the new UK And the souls of his feet, they are lagging behind He has quality time ... Turn up the volume The noise of the traffic It makes him feel dizzy The cars turn elastic It’s only this feeling This sense of inertia That stops him from reeling And rolling right over And energy is hard to find When you’re wasting time in the new UK And the souls of his feet! they are lagging behind He has quality time ... (almost) Summon a cider Out of the aether Sit down beside her If it makes you feel better? But it’s never enough No it’s never enough But it’s all there is That’s all there is ... (almost) That’s all there is ... (almost Saturday football, a bus on the bypass Is narrowly missed by an RAF flypast And the volley of bottles that chase the offenders Explode into space with exceptional grace And energy is hard to find He has quality time ... (almost)

There you go again Kicking ashes at your friends Like a sleepy child Only slightly more infantile Not so long ago You were nice to know. Now it seems as though, You’ve got a taste for the medicine Better keep that quiet So it doesn’t hurt, cut away there nerve Better keep that quiet So it doesn’t hurt, keep those bridges burn Hang alcohol Hang up your dreams Buy a bicycle Just to keep it clean And from time to time Your body turns to stone And for time to time You forget that your cover’s blown Better keep that quiet So it doesn’t hurt, cut away there nerve Better keep that quiet So it doesn’t hurt, keep your bridges burnt

“We are receiving information Regarding mass evacuation It seems the gas from a good idea Is coming down in a lead balloon” And everybody looks around And then they wonder what to do? And they go and catch the analysis on The Early Evening News And then a scientist from heaven Beams down to see what he can do He puts his fingers on the buttons For he has platform shoes And all the people are dragged into line And world is like brand new There isn’t any need for action There isn't any revenue And everybody looks around And then they wonder what to do? And they go and catch the analysis on The Early Evening News What are we supposed to do? The Early Evening News

Vox Pop 04:47
They don’t like buildings when they’re safe indoors They don’t like music when it sounds like noise This fuzzy life gets in-between their toes and so the chorus grows and grows Don’t land that aeroplane Don’t land that aeroplane, Don’t land that aeroplane on my roof Don’t land that aeroplane Don’t land that aeroplane don’t land that aeroplane on my roof / We’re shouting out loud And moving as a crowd We stand on common ground We’re so delightful We’re shouting out loud And moving as a crowd We stand on common ground We’re so Vox pop-pop, vox pop Vox pop-pop, vox pop (“What did he say?”) The population is a private eye It’s on its case, but don’t ask it why (“I don’t like roads!”) Don’t land that aeroplane Don’t land that aeroplane Don’t land that aeroplane on my roof Don’t land that aeroplane, don’t land that aeroplane Don’t land that aeroplane on my roof / We’re shouting out loud And moving as a crowd We stand on common ground We’re so delightful We’re shouting out loud And moving as a crowd We stand on common ground We’re so delightful Vox pop-pop, vox pop Vox pop-pop, vox pop Vox pop-pop pop, vox pop Vox pop-pop pop, vox pop, vox pop

You want to row in an open boat Into the breach with captain Kirk Into the fire and into the fight Come on baby it’ll be alright You want to meet with the king of Siam And dig for victory in no man’s land You want to fly and I think you might Come down baby you're as high as a kite A point of order, are you aware? You can’t flap your arms and take to the air Are you coming down tonight? Come down selfish satellite, Come down Are you coming down tonight? Come down selfish satellite, Come down

Lucky Bag 03:12
Disappointed It’s always everybody else, who gets the cowboy badge In their lucky bag Disappointed All of a sudden, a great anticipation Is now sent back Way back Behind the line of cars That grinds on past Red car Blue car Black car Oh head’s a blank And there’s nothing in my lucky bag Swap you for your lucky bag
12.
Water Cooled 04:43
And the eyes that sting View a world of glass And the ears that ring Catch the air in echos Body held by the water World moving all around Body held by the water Water cooled And I’m feeling sick And your skin is neon And the blood runs so thin And very little counts for everything Body held by the water World moving all around Body held by the water Water cooled And as my hands are letting go Danger becomes delight And as above becomes below We wash the daylight We’re going to wash, wash the daylight

about

Measure And Make

The great lost English art pop album! Abandoned in 1998, but now rescued and restored from the original tapes. It wasn't the intention at the time to release these four track recordings. However fortunately they survived. Neither precious nor lacking in detail, Curtains second album explores hinterlands and heartache with youthful melancholy.

"Saturday football, a bus on the bypass
Is narrowly missed by an RAF flypast
And the volley of bottles that chase the offenders
Explode into space with exceptional grace"

about

Curtains England, UK

Stemming from the brief pre-Britpop flurry of experimentally minded 'non-retro' indie groups. Curtains employed direct pop impetus layered with electronic textures. A hybrid artpop, or "ambient-punk" that related as much to the krautrock family tree, as it did to post punk, electro and techno.

Songs could be any (or all) of the following. Intimate, fizzy, lush, kooky, or full-on walls of sound!
